Scottie Scheffler's Golfing Prowess on Display at Pebble Beach: A Sensational Eagle on the Final Hole
Scottie Scheffler's Golfing Superpowers on Full Display at Pebble Beach
Scottie Scheffler's golfing prowess is nothing short of extraordinary, and his performance on the final day at Pebble Beach was no exception. With a picture-perfect eagle on the 18th hole, Scheffler capped off an unconscious final round that left spectators in awe. But here's where it gets controversial... Is it too easy for Scottie?
Scheffler teed off early, taking advantage of the calmer conditions before the weather turned. Despite starting the day eight shots behind the leader, he erased his deficit in a blink, with a birdie-eagle-birdie start to the day. This was just the beginning of his remarkable comeback. By the end of the opening seven holes, he was already 7-under, including two pars.
His mission was accomplished by making it onto the leaderboard before the turn, but Scottie showed that he's still human by carding three bogeys, including a disappointing one from the fringe on the Par 4 15th. After solid pars on the 16th and 17th holes, the pressure was on for Scheffler to make an eagle on the Par 5 18th.
And he did just that. A 329-yard drive to an ideal spot in the fairway, followed by an approach shot from 186 yards to inside three feet, made things look way, way too easy for the man. His nine-under round of 63, which included three bogeys, is borderline unbelievable, but that's Scottie.
Sunday's final round was a historic one for the World No. 1, as he made over 150 feet of putts and carded three eagles in a single round on the PGA Tour. This week at Pebble Beach marked the second consecutive tournament where Scheffler didn't have his best stuff in round one, but managed to storm back over the final 54 holes. While he may not have secured the win, getting to 20-under was a momentum builder.
Scheffler trailed the first-round leader by 10 shots after day one, yet he's set to earn his 19th straight Top 10 finish on Tour. But here's the question: Is it too easy for Scottie? Do you agree or disagree? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
