Monstropolis Construction Update: A Bird's Eye View of Hollywood Studios (2026)

Get ready, Disney fans! Recent aerial photos from X user bioreconstruct offer an exciting glimpse into the ongoing transformation of Hollywood Studios, with a focus on the highly anticipated Monstropolis area, a new coaster, and the evolving Animation Courtyard. These updates provide a bird's-eye view of the exciting changes happening at Walt Disney World Resort's Hollywood Studios. Let's dive in!

Looking at the park from above, specifically from the west side (the 'back' relative to the main entrance), we see a lot of progress. In the bottom center, you can easily spot Galaxy's Edge. Just above and to the right, a large tan area marks the future home of the Monsters, Inc. suspended coaster.

Construction of the coaster's gravity building is clearly underway. The photos reveal fresh concrete flooring, more than what was visible in previous updates, along with concrete forms and significant fill dirt. This dirt covers the concrete seen in earlier aerial shots. Electrical conduits are also being carefully buried.

In the top left of the photo, the outline of the guest-facing side of the building is beginning to take shape, defined by its right angles. Comparing this to the concept art gives a good idea of how the final building will look.

In another section, the photo shows where the Gonzo’s Royal Flush sign was removed on the left. In the center, we see what remains after the PizzeRizzo sign came down.

From a front-of-park perspective, with the entrance on the bottom left, the Monstropolis construction dominates the upper left.

But here's where it gets interesting... The Animation Courtyard is also undergoing changes. Work continues in this area, with recent developments.

And this is the part most people miss... The constant evolution of the park.

What do you think? Do you believe the Monstropolis area will be completed on schedule? Share your predictions and thoughts on social media. We're eager to hear your opinions!
