Disney+ is gearing up to bring a plethora of K-dramas, anime, and more to its platform in the coming year, with a focus on expanding its collaboration with top-tier Asian talent. At the Disney+ Originals Preview event held at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 13, a star-studded lineup of Korean and Japanese productions was unveiled for 2026 and beyond. This event showcased the growing global demand for Asian content, with 60% of anime titles watched outside Asia and Korean storytelling seeing significant growth in new markets such as Brazil and Mexico. Disney+ is doubling down on its commitment to Asian talent, having already produced over 150 original projects since launching its Asia-Pacific content initiative five years ago. The company's president, Luke Kang, emphasized the importance of providing a global platform for great writers, directors, producers, and talent to tell their stories. With recent collaborations with Korean entertainment giant CJ ENM and the expansion of ESPN on Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand, it's clear that Disney+ is just getting started in its quest to bring diverse and captivating content to its audience.
